Abstract

The packed bed column study was investigated using coconut shell and neem leaf for the removal of Cr(VI) from aqueous solution. The breakthrough characteristics for Cr(VI) removal was reported. The effect of operating parameters like influent Cr(VI) concentration, bed height of the packed column and the flow rate of aqueous solution on the breakthrough curve was studied. Bohart-Adams, Yoon-Nelson, Thomas model,Yan et al. model and Wolborska model were applied to the experimental data for their suitability.
