Abstract

The test was conducted at the outer parameter of Stillwater, Oklahoma on 16 a of open pasture land. Treatments were randomized and replicated 10 times. Ant mounds were checked for activity and mapped prior to the start of the test. Treatments were applied on June 20. Mounds were checked for activity at 1,2,3,6 and 10 wk after treatment. If more than 2 ants were observed per mound the colony was recorded as active. Treatments were applied as follows: baits and granules were evenly distributed over surface of mounds; drenches were applied with a garden sprinkler can. Rainfall during the test consisted of June - 0.66", July - 4.11", and Aug - 3.24" for a total of 8.01".
