Abstract

This article will discuss the elements of educational design used in the creation of a curriculum for a graduate level course on Digital Asset Management within the School of Library and Information Science at San Jos{é} State University, San Jos{é}, California. It will include a brief background on curriculum theory to frame the discussion on how design choices were made in the original curriculum instituted in 2006. In addition, this article will reveal the limitations commonly found in most instructional programs and provide insight into adaptations made necessary to maintain the integrity of the original design as well as to advance the curriculum design and improve the course experience in perpetuity.
