Abstract

In 1975, Lacan might have said about Lévi-Strauss: « I owe him a lot, if not all». Nevertheless, it makes no odds there were discussions, misunderstandings, and even discords between both men. Of that, whitnesses, in 1956, the exchange which followed Lévi-Strauss' lecture on « The relationships between mythology and ritual ». Strained, sometimes obscure, this exchange of views could be clarified when being replaced within Lacan's work in progress at this time: his seminar upon psychosis and his manufacturing of the Name of the Father. This approach would shed light on what is at stake in the discord then intensifying.
