Abstract

The article discusses a proposal for what secondary school teachers might teach and what college instructors should reinforce with reference to biology literacy. Topics include need to cultivate and instill a sense of wonder and appreciation for the natural world, help students understand how humanity is linked to all living things, and enabling learners to appreciate the flow of energy.
