Abstract

This paper considers regional population development in Finland. The paper focuses in particular on the role of inter-regional in reshaping the regional population distribution, and suggests that this has contributed to regional development inequalities. The paper questions whether policies to counter this trend following a Floridian approach can ever be effective. © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
