Abstract
Many types of research related to mathematical literacy have been carried out, but those focusing on primary schools were still rare. This study aims to describe the mathematical literacy profile of primary school students in Sragen, Central Java, Indonesia. The research method was quantitative. A mathematical literacy test with aspects, content, and context relevant to primary school-age students was used to obtain data. One hundred twelve students from five primary schools have taken the test. The results showed that students' mathematical literacy was low, with mean score of 44.036 out of 100. The achievement for the formulating aspect was 38%, the employing aspect was 53%, and the interpreting aspect was 36%. The students' mean scores were also compared based on age and gender. The statistical analysis results showed no significant difference in mathematical literacy between 11, 12, and 13 years old, the same as between female and male students.
