Abstract

After a short outline of the latest development of music therapy within the multiprofessional neurorehabilitation team internationally divergent concepts of music therapy will be discussed. These concepts are focusing on the communicative, social, emotional, motoric, sensoric or cognitive field of disturbance. Additionally the question of the still not proofed effectivity of this method will be outlined as well. A look at the main points of current research within the indication fields of social competence, influence on mood as well as of communication, specially concerning the treatment of aphasic and dysarthric patients, will conclude the paper.
