Abstract

In an infant or child thrombocytopenia can occur due to large spectrum of illness ranging from tropical infection to malignancy or bone marrow failure. it is important recognize signs and symptoms to identify the underlying illness which caused thrombocytopenia. Laboratory evaluation is essential to reach the diagnosis. Management is decided by the severity of thrombocytopenia, associated risk factors and underlying illness.
