Para uma genealogia do estado territorial soberano

Abstract

Com base no método genealógico, conforme proposto por Michel Foucault, o artigo analisa as condições de existência do Estado territorial moderno. Trata-se de uma forma política que emergiu na Idade Clássica (séculos XVII e XVIII) e prosperou por meio da articulação de um regime de poder próprio: a soberania. Nesse sentido, o artigo argumenta que a soberania, na Idade Clássica, foi capaz de articular poder e saber em um mesmo quadro, produzindo um conjunto de dispositivos, estratégias e tecnologias de poder que terminaram por estabelecer modos de conhecer e de agir no mundo que tinham como referência ubíqua o estado territorial soberano.Appuyé sur la méthode généalogique, d'après la proposition de Michel Foucault, l'article analyse les conditions de l'existence de l'Etat territorial moderne. Il s'agit d'une forme politique qui est née à l'Âge Classique (XVIIème et XVIIIème siècles) et qui s'est développée par l'intermédiaire de l'articulation d'un régime de pouvoir propre: la souveraineté. A cet effet, l'article argumente que la souveraineté, à l'Âge Classique, fut capable d'articuler pouvoir et savoir dans un même cadre, et produit un ensemble de dispositifs, stratégies et technologies de pouvoir qui finirent par établir des modes de connaissance et d'action dans le monde qui avaient comme repère ubique l'état territorial souverain.Inspired by Michel Foucault´s geneological method, the present article analyzes the conditions of existence of the modern territorial State. This is a political form that emerged in the Classical Era (17th and 18th centuries) and prospered through the articulation of its own power regime: sovereignty. In this vein, this article argues that in the Classical Era, sovereignty was able to articulate power and knowledge within the same framework, producing a series of mechanisms, strategies and technologies of power that ended in the establishment of modes of knowing and acting in the world that had as ubiquituous reference the sovereign territorial state.
