Abstract
The different aspects of web services management are discussed, with focus on business-oriented management of web services. Management of web services can be classified into infrastructure-level, application-level, and business-level management. To analyze web services from a business perspective it is important to define and correlate metrics through interfaces, conversations, and compositions. Maximization of user-defined utility functions can be achieved, by automatically controlling services based on the actual or predicted value of business metrics.
