Abstract
The type-series of Holoaden bradei B. Lutz, 1958 housed at Museu Nacional, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, is examined. Besides the reference to a "Type, 2 Cotypes, 84 Paratypes" (summing 87 specimens) and to "Out of 90 specimens" measured in the original description of the species, only 74 specimens were found. Since no one specimen was originally numbered, the holotype (or "type") and paratypes of the species and its type-locality are realized. The previous designation of the lectotype for Holoaden luederwaldti Miranda-Ribeiro, 1920, is reinstated.
