Abstract

Abstract: Special education is intended for children with disability. One of the special education services is the orientation and mobility skill. However, there is still an special education school that has not provided this service for people with visual impairment. Therefore theresearchtook the initiative to conduct research in order to provide this service. The purpose of this research is to describe the ability of orientation and mobility of the visual impairment before and after using the white cane and to describe the effect of using the white cane toward the ability of orientation and mobility with visual impairment. The method used in this research is one group pre-test post-test. From this reseach, the skill of orientation and mobility of the visual impairment is much better after using the white cane. White cane make of the visual impairment person self-sufficient in orientation and mobility. From the results of analysis by researcher, the white cane affects the skill of orientation and mobility of the visual impairment.
