Abstract
This article deals with the acquisition of competences in higher education starting from the alternation of contexts from on a theoretical point of view. First, we make a minimum conceptualization of competences connected with the action, experience and social and professional context. Then, we focus our attention in key concepts related to different training practice modalities in context of work. From this approach we review the practices and the acquisition of competencies, types of practices, practicum, alternation, its characteristics, types and aims, to finally detect strategies and media.
