Abstract
In this study we analyze the impact of several socioeconomic variables on the happiness of the inhabitants of Arequipa city, located at the south of Peru. In order to, there were applied a socioeconomic chart and the Lima Happiness Scale in a representative sample of 823 people from Metropolitan Arequipa, obtained by the clustering technique. A multiple linear regression was applied to process the data, and the race was the unique variable significant statistically associated with the happiness of the inhabitants
