Abstract

Globalization has boosted the tourism sector, making it one of the most important economic activities in developing countries in the 21st century, creating the need for urban growth through the construction of new physical infrastructures to guarantee accommodation, permanence, the security and mobility of large masses of people, putting the integrity of cultural heritage at risk. For this reason, the objective of this research is to design a system that integrates various emerging technologies, among which Augmented Reality and the Global Positioning System stand out, in order to develop digital content of cultural heritage and preserve its immaterial value., in addition to allowing the tourist to live a different experience when visiting the host place, superimposing digital information in the places they visit. The type of research is descriptive and technological development. Among the results found, the communication between the different technologies of the proposed system is outlined, as well as the flow of data that allow the functionality of the system. It is concluded that the proposed system contributes to the conservation of cultural objects and expressions through the generation of multimedia content and that it allows tourists to live an innovative experience through the proposed technologies.
