Abstract

Shallot (Allium ascalonicum L.) is a vegetable commodity that has high economic value and has been cultivated in various regions in Indonesia. One of the provinces that is the center of cultivation is West Nusa Tenggara. Shallot has several superior varieties, one of which is Super philip. The production of Super philip shallot cultivated in Montong Tangi Village, East Lombok Regency often decreases, especially at the post- harvest stage when stored in a storage warehouse. This research was a qualitative descriptive study that aimed to isolate and identify the causes of decay in shallots during post-harvest in the storage warehouse. Isolation of fungi was carried out by direct planting method and was identified based on macroscopic and microscopic morphological characteristics. The results showed that there were 4 fungi isolates suspected of being genus Fusarium, Aspergillus, Mucor, and Sclerotinia. The four fungi were found to attack all parts of the root, stem and tuber of the shallot var. Super philip and causes decay during post-harvest
