Abstract
Escherichia coli O157:H7 infection ranges from mild diarrheal illness to severe hemorrhagic colitis but may rarely be complicated by pseudomembranous colitis and/or necrosis. Herein, we report a sporadic case of ischemic E. coli O157:H7 pseudomembranous colitis in an adult that occurred during a national outbreak of E. coli O157:H7 in the United States. © 2007 by the Infectious Diseases Society of America.
