Abstract

Recently, the usage of green walls has expanded from providing aesthetic benefits to concentrating on addressing urban environmental concerns including wastewater treatment, in this way enhancing the effectiveness of green buildings. The paper explores the green walls systems and their different types and identify the various benefits of their utilization as an enhancement of the not only on the buildings scale but on the urban scale as well. In addition, the study target to demonstrate the fundamental aspects that affect the urban spaces imageability. From this viewpoint the main objective of this paper is to conduct a guideline showing how green walls system can fulfill the different aspect of imageability resulting in enhancing the imageability of urban spaces.
