Abstract

Newborn screening is a system that provides early identifi-cation and treatment of infants with disorders prior to per-manent disability or death. A successful newborn screening program requires skilled effort, understanding, and collabo-ration by many individuals, from those collecting the blood spots to the child’s primary care provider and family.
