Abstract

Colosmittia brasileira sp. n. from São Paulo state, Brazil, is described and illustrated based on a male imago. The genus Colosmittia Andersen & Saether was described based on a single species, C. clavata Andersen & Saether, from the West Usambara Mountains, Tanzania, East Africa. The discovery of the new species shows that Colosmittia has an Afro-Brazilian distribution pattern.
