Abstract

'Thinking about parental leave: policy and practice - an interview with Richard J. Petts' by Mara A. Yerkes I am currently working on a survey experiment project in which we seek to identify aspects of organizational policies and workplace culture that may help to improve perceptions of workers who take paid parental leave. As the U.S. is one of only a few countries without a statutory leave policy, this work is fundamentally important in illustrating the benefits of parental leave for American parents as well as the challenges that the lack of access presents.
