Abstract

Present work reviewed the work done in micro mixers for miscible fluids. Different approaches in the direction of improving mixing efficiency under low pressure drop are discussed. Study of the literature was presented and compared for different important variations in the design of mixer, such as: mixing with obstruction in the flow, position of stream, flow parameters and geometric variation. Different mixers are having different pros and cons; and each type is suitable for a particular requirement and fluid. Generally a curved type obstacle placed in either T shaped or Y shaped flow channel, leads to rise in mixing efficiency without compromising on pressure drop.
