Abstract

This chapter explores the food security implications of climate change in the East African context. Debate and/or knowledge on the nexus between climate change and human security (and/or other conceptualizations of security) has evolved considerably overtime. Today, climate change is considered both a human security threat and threat multiplier, which acts on existing threats/vulnerabilities thereby making them worse. The chapter highlights the impact of climate change on food security in East Africa and addresses possible adaptive and mitigation measures for sustainability.
