Abstract
The authors treated 6 cases of sigmoid volvulus. In this report they analyze those elements of assistance in the formulating of a better clinical radiological diagnosis and they assess features such as advanced age, frequency of serious lesional association, prolonged evolution before consulting physician, recurrence and high mortality. Surgical tactics to be employed in each particular circumstance are discussed.
