Abstract

Today, in line with the increasing energy demand with the developing technology, the countries of the world have started to search for new energy sources. Due to the limited number of non-renewable energy sources, studies continue by concentrating on renewable energy sources. In this context, initiatives on the hybrid energy system, which collects multiple renewable energy sources in a single facility, are increasing day by day. In this study, it is aimed to find the optimal region for hybrid power plant installation by using scientific methods to provide high efficiency from solar and wind energy in Kırıkkale province. While making this evaluation, six criteria were considered as slope, solar radiation values, wind values, distance from the substation, land costs and land use rates. In the study, the most suitable site selection application was carried out for the facility in question. In the conducted study, Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP), Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to An Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) and COmplex PRoportional ASsessment (COPRAS) from Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) methods were used. In the problem solved on the basis of six criteria, it was concluded that Keskin district is the most suitable district for hybrid energy plant installation. With this study, which was conducted for the first time on the subject of hybrid energy in Kırıkkale, the solution comparison of AHP, TOPSIS and COPRAS methods for the hybrid power plant site selection problem was made for the first time and contributes to the literature.
