Abstract
In the Czech Republic, most of the basic AI research is carried out at the universities and institutes of the Academy of Sciences. Most of AI applications in the country are developed by organizations active in fundamental research on basis of contracts with the end users. All Czech universities oriented towards computer science and/or technical topics offer a basic course in AI for undergraduate students as well as graduate courses in AI. Funding for the AI research comes from two main sources; the host institutions and the research grants provided by several Czech grant agencies.
