Abstract

Tris(2-aminoethyl)amine condenses with salicylaldehyde and its substituted analogs in a 1:3 molar ratio to form Schiff bases which are potentially tribasic heptadentate ligands. The characterization of Cr(III), Fe(III), and La(III) complexes with one of these new ligands, tris(3,5-dichlorosalicylidene-2-iminoethyl)amine (HjS-CSaltren), is also described. © 1979, Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
