Abstract
With simplifications, the present model can simulate twodimensional convection in laboratory experiments or in a shallow atmospheric layer. Since the flow is two- dimensional, the motion is in the form of convective rolls. Two cases are considered; the rolls oriented transverse to the shear flow, and the rolls parallel to the shear flow. This study is considered as a first step in the more general three- dimensional problem.
