Abstract

In this note, we report the simple development of a homemade versatile device that allows micrometric vertical micro-positioning for computer-controlled dip-coating thin film deposition and micro-contact printing capabilities. Using mostly recycled parts, the resulting low-cost setup offers great precision, ease of use, and portability while complying with common soft lithography techniques specifications. It results in an excellent benchtop alternative to more expensive commercial solutions or more complex custom soft lithography devices, especially for organic electronics and quantum optics applications. © 2011 American Institute of Physics.
