DIFERENÇA DE RENDA ENTRE MULHERES EMPREENDEDORAS E ASSALARIADAS

Abstract

The objective of this paper is to investigate the income differential between entrepreneur women and wage earners using the National Household Sample Survey (PNAD) of 2015. For this purpose, detailed decomposition and Oaxaca-Blinder and the heckit method are used to overcome the problem of self-selection. The results found suggest that the self-employed entrepreneur is paid an hourly rate of R$11, 39 while the salaried woman has earnings of R$13, 51 per-hour. This scenario changes when analyzing the situation of the employer, who earns R$36, 70 per hour. The main factors that explain these income differences are those not observed: age, education and living with a spouse.
