Abstract

ISO 26000, the long-awaited guidance document on social responsibility (SR), was finally published in November 2010. Already organisations are using ISO 26000 as a foundation for their SR/CSR (corporate social responsibility) policies and their number is expected ro rise quickly to many thousands worldwide. Written by international experts who have followed the development of ISO 26000 and who have been pioneering its implementation in practice with clients, this book is the first to provide potential users with a comprehensive roadmap to the new standard ad a compass to identify where they stand in relation to it now. This book covers all the key content of ISO 26000, examining the backgrounds as stakeholder engagemetn are dealth with. It is rich in tools, illustrative material and case examples. It also contains guidance on interpreting the different issues and their expectations, and determining their importance to the organisation.
