Abstract

This article aims to analyze and propose improvements in productive flow of a small company in the furniture industry that needs to reduce its costs, increase productivity and reduce delivery time to get to stay in market paper. For this the concepts and tools of lean manufacturing, including the tool Value Stream Mapping for the family of a furniture industry chairs were applied in the company. The research methodology used is based on an exploratory research as a case study. In terms of results was designed the current state of the company and further opportunities for improvement and then suggested proposals were identified, such as the possibility of reducing the intermediate stocks, balancing operators and other waste reduction, with a reduction in lead time 40.6%.
