Abstract

Increase in need of non-renewable energy sources has directed to the installation of Photovoltaic (PV) plants in many areas. Performance analysis of these PV plants could support in designing, operating and maintenance of PV systems. A PV panel was installed at the terrace of Science Block of NIT-Puducherry, Karaikal, India located at 10° latitude. The performance of this installed PV panel was analyzed by during August 2017 to February 2018. In this study, the average power output and system efficiency are analyzed. The results show that PV performance depends on geographical location and climatic, environmental pollution, PV module types, and climate conditions such as solar radiation and ambient temperature.
