Abstract

Published version of the author's M.A. thesis argues for the treatment of the Tabaru stress system with a lexical phonology which deals with prefixes and affixes on separate tiers. A brief section on morphology presents verb prefixes as portmanteau morphemes, obscuring the semantic ergativity of the language.
