A biologically active monoterpene, paeoniflorigenone (2), was isolated from the roots of Paeonia albiflora pallas. the structure of 2 was elucidated by means of chemical and spectral studies and its absolute structure was determined by X-ray analysis, by the direct method. © 1983, The Pharmaceutical Society of Japan.
