Abstract

Click chemistry is an approach that uses efficient and reliable reactions to bind two molecular building blocks and avoids the formation of byproducts. It has become increasingly used in a variety of analytical chemistry fields, such as electrochemistry, sensor, sample preparation, and separation. In the latter two fields, click chemistry was utilized to prepare new sorbents and stationary phases or modify surfaces due to its simple, effective and fast synthesis properties. In this review, a click chemistry approach has been discussed for the fabrication of extraction sorbents for solid phase extraction, solid phase microextraction, and magnetic solid phase extraction as well as stationary phases for liquid chromatography, and capillary electrochromatography which have been used over the past two decades.
