Abstract

Innovation is playing an increasingly important role in management, but the process of generating creative ideas for innovation mostly relies on skilled persons which are usually unavailable. Information technology is changing the management environment and accumulating huge data, from which data mining discovered a lot of knowledge. However, it’s difficult to use such rough knowledge and information effectively to benefit the innovation. Based on the new cross discipline Extenics, we analyzed on current innovation models and methods, and present a combined innovation model using intelligent knowledge management and extension transformation methods. The model process the knowledge discovered from data mining into a tree structure and save them in knowledge base in basic-element format. We then explore the innovation paths and its directions by a formularized model by human-computer interaction method based on Extenics. The model can objectively describe how the innovation solutions are created. Furthermore, we present a management innovation case to support our model. The framework is proved useful for practical applications.
