Abstract

We built a low-cost system for monitoring human skin conductance responses (SCRs) in a clinical magnetic resonance (MR) scanner during functional imaging. The average scanner-induced conductance noise level was suppressed sufficiently to allow SCR measurements over the full range of SCR amplitudes, and functional image signal-to-noise ratio was unaffected by the skin conductance apparatus. The system may be useful for a variety of imaging studies. © 2001 Wiley-Liss, Inc.
