Abstract
By injecting a radio-opaque medium into the glans penis the cavernous spaces of the glans and of the corpus cavcrnosum urethrae can be demonstrated. By injecting the contrast medium into one corpus cavcrnosum both corpora cavernosa become visible by X-ray. In both cast s the draining veins become visible. Pathologic conditions (injuries, inflammations, priapism, tumors) cause typical changes of the cavernous spaces and blood drainage, which are illustrated by examples. When no veins are available for intravenous medications, especially in emergencies, such injections can safely and easily be given into the corpora cavernosa. © 1955 S. Karger AG, Basel.
