Abstract

Analyses of 60 samples of the least-altered basalts were made. Although all of the basalts were slightly altered, the primary basaltic compositions and variations could be determined. Judging from major and trace-element data, the magmas underwent different degrees of high-level crystal fractionation. -K.A.R.
