Strategy For Business Sustainability in The Chemical Industry Through Optimization of Safety Performance

Abstract

In this study, researchers analysed safety performance in the chemical industry sector on the potential relationship between system control management and sustainability. The effect of safety performance on business sustainability will be carried out using a quantitative research design, and will use hypothesis testing using PLS-SEM analysis tools and field studies. This study used the entire population of the chemical industry in Banten Province, Indonesia, which is as many as 156 companies. The results showed that the safety climate and safety culture can affect business sustainability, making safety a priority which is one of the safety performance indicators in carrying out all activities is also the most desired thing by every worker when carrying out work activities. This result can be implemented into policies for the chemical industry sector in Indonesia. This paper is one of the pioneers on the effect of safety performance on business sustainability in the chemical industry.
