Abstract

OBJECTIVE This study aimed to evaluate the implant placement risk levels in partially edentulous patients using cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) and implant planning software. MATERIALS AND METHODS A total of 101 CBCT scans of partially edentulous patients were included. Evaluations of jawbone anatomy, vital structures' proximity, and the risk of inferior alveolar nerve injury with esthetic considerations were done on CBCT images using implant surgery software (Blue Sky Plan 4; Blue Sky Bio, Grayslake, IL). RESULTS A total of 101 patients with 106 edentulous sites were examined. The mean ridge height of the non-esthetic zone was 10 mm and 14.4 mm in the maxilla and mandible, respectively.
