Abstract

Statistics is generally perceived as a challenging subject by students, necessitating the presence of media to facilitate understanding and enhance their learning interest. One of the media that can be used in statistical education is Powtoon. Powtoon enables presenters to create engaging and interactive animations, which help elucidate statistical concepts in a clear and captivating manner for learners. This study aims to ascertain the viability and students' attitudes toward the utilization of Powtoon as a learning tool in statistics. The 4D development model was employed for this research type. The research involved 36 eighth-grade students from SMP Negeri 1 Deli Tua as subjects. Research instruments encompassed expert validation sheets for media and subject matter, as well as student responses. Based on media expert validation results, an overall average score of 4.27 was achieved across all aspects, categorizing the media as "Highly Feasible." Subsequently, subject matter expert validation classified the media as "Feasible" with an average score of 4.19. Moreover, students' response percentages after using Powtoon-based learning media for each aspect ranged from 80% to 90%, indicating a "Good" student response category. Thus, it can be concluded that this study has successfully achieved its goal of creating a valid and feasible Powtoon-based learning media for the statistics subject.
