Abstract

Security in networks is becoming increasingly important owing to the expanding role of distributed computation, distributed databases and telecommunications applications such as electronic mail and electronic funds transfer. This paper undertakes to study this hitherto neglected area of Computer Science. It is the result of research, discussions and a series of seminars attended and presented by the author.
