Abstract
This article discusses the biography of the Dominican Friar Juan de Villagarcía, his role in the recatholization of England and his problems with the Inquisition, at the same time that his master, the Toledo archbishop Carranza, was being processed. We will analyze Villagarcía's manuscript Dialogue or gold chain to attract the heretics, written between 1560 and 1563, and establish similarities and differences with Carranza's thought.
