Abstract

Issues to be considerd in achieving sustainability of water resources within the water supply industry are examined. These need to balance the environment with customer demands, at acceptable costs and level of service. Progrmames being developed by the water companies to manage water resources and achieve sustainability are described. Methodologies being used to evaluate and assess water resources reliability and forecast future demands are discussed. Policy changes influencing water resource management are also considered. -P.M.Taylor
