Submandibular sialolithiasis - A report of two cases

Abstract

Sialoliths are commonly encountered soft tissue calcification of salivary glands. Most commonly encountered in the adult population, they may be asymptomatic and diagnosed on routine dental examinations or present with symptoms of pain and swelling of the involved gland. Current advancements in imaging and management have made their successful diagnosis and treatment simple. Here two interesting cases of submandibular sialoliths are presented along with a literature review.
