Integrasi Nilai-Nilai Islam dalam Kurikulum Pendidikan Modern: Tantangan dan Peluang di Era Digital

Abstract

Integrating Islamic values into the modern education curriculum has become a significant concern in the digital era, particularly as educational systems undergo major transformations driven by technological advancements and shifting social dynamics. Modern curricula are required to equip learners with 21st-century competencies such as digital literacy, creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking. However, within the context of Islamic education, these competencies must remain grounded in spiritual, moral, and ethical principles derived from the Qur’an and Sunnah as the foundation for character development. This study examines how Islamic values can be embedded into contemporary curricula through technology-based learning methods, interdisciplinary approaches, character education reinforcement, and pedagogical development aligned with the objectives of Islamic law (maqāṣid al-syarī‘ah). The key challenges identified include limited technological literacy among educators, the dominance of secular digital content, potential moral decline, and the lack of curriculum frameworks that practically integrate religious values. Nevertheless, the digital era also presents strategic opportunities, such as access to interactive learning resources, Islamic educational applications, artificial intelligence for personalized learning, and the expansion of global platforms for Islamic learning and da’wah. Therefore, integrating Islamic values into the modern curriculum is not merely an adaptation to technological change but a strategic effort to ensure that Islamic education remains relevant, contextual, and responsive to the demands of digital civilization. This research is expected to provide theoretical and practical contributions to the development of a holistic and sustainable Islamic education curriculum aligned with global educational needs.
