Abstract
Use of interactive whiteboards; It is essential to understand better and comprehend the subjects in education and training, attract students’ attention, encourage their desire to learn, support the teacher, and make the teaching more qualified. In this sense, it is obvious that interactive boards placed in classrooms within the scope of the FATİH project positively affect the course process, revealing different gains and positively affect learning. In addition, it is thought that it is important to know the various situations that occur during the use of the interactive board in the educational environment and to take precautions for effective use. In the research, the qualitative research design was used to determine teachers’ experiences working in secondary education institutions during the use of interactive whiteboards. Using the semi-structured interview technique, 32 teachers were asked about their situations while using the interactive boards. As a result of the analysis, the situations teachers encounter while using the interactive boards were collected under eight themes to increase the effectiveness of interactive boards. Software situations, e-content situations, and situations encountered during the course process are at the top of the teachers’ situations. The most common situations faced by teachers, such as visual disturbances or the inability to prevent sunlight sufficiently, negatively affect the viewing of the interactive board, the inability to see the screen clearly for the classroom environment, the position of the board, and the elimination of environmental conditions such as lighting are among the top priorities
